Whitmer for Governor
Cheryl Bergman served as Senior Finance Advisor for Governor
Gretchen Whitmer’s election campaign. Bergman oversaw all
fundraising and compliance operations for the successful campaign.
Debbie Dingell for Congress
Cheryl Bergman served as fundraising consultant for Congresswoman
Debbie Dingell’s successful 2014 and 2016 campaigns.
Stabenow Victory Fund 2012
Cheryl Bergman developed and managed a major gifts program for the
Stabenow Victory Fund 2012. Bergman currently serves as Treasurer
for the fund.
Governor Jennifer Granholm
Cheryl Bergman served as Finance Director for Governor Granholm’s
successful 2002 gubernatorial campaign and as Deputy Campaign
Manager for her successful 2006 re-election campaign.
The White House Project
The White House Project (TWHP) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, 501C3
organization that aims to advance women’s leadership in all
communities and sectors-up to the U.S. presidency-by filling the
leadership pipeline with a richly diverse, critical mass of women.
Bergman was responsible for raising money in Chicago, IL and
Michigan for THWP. Bergman, Inc. developed and helped to implement
a high donor program including the development of a marketing plan
and materials for this program. Bergman, Inc. also developed other
fundraising opportunities to help TWHP raise the needed funds for
their Michigan and Ilinois programs. Bergman, Inc. identifies
specific fundraising prospects and works with the executive director
to introduce these prospects to TWHP and develops specific plans to
engage each of these prospects in donating and fundraising for TWHP
in Michigan. Bergman, Inc. also provides fund-raising training at
the Michigan Go Run Trainings for potential women political
candidates of all political parties.
CureMichigan
Bergman served as fundraising consultant for CureMichigan, a ballot
initiative to allow the expansion of stem cell research in
Michigan. Bergman developed a fundraising plan and hired and
directed a four person fundraising team. The fundraising team
planned and implemented, at Bergman’s direction, an event with
President Bill Clinton that drew over 600 people and raised over
$250,000. This event was planned and completed within a 10 day
period.
Michigan’s Children
Michigan's Children is a statewide, independent advocacy group
for children and
their families. Bergman consults with Michigan’s Children executive
director and development director to plan and implement three annual
fundraising events in Lansing, Grand Rapids and Detroit. Bergman
advised on theme, all aspects of event planning and fundraising.
Bergman also works with Michigan’s Children on Board development to
ensure a strong fundraising presence on the organization’s board of
directors. Bergman developed content of fundraising marketing
materials for Michigan’s Children.
Denver 2008
Denver 2008 Committee hosted the Michigan Delegation at the 2008
Democratic National Convention in Denver, CO. Bergman hired and
managed the Denver 2008 team. Bergman developed and oversaw the
project budget, fundraising, as well as event planning and
management and development of all fundraising marketing materials.

Children’s Trust Fund of Michigan
Bergman worked with the Michigan’s Children’s Trust Fund staff and
board to plan the organization’s 25th Anniversary
celebration honoring Sen. Debbie Stabenow. The event raised over
$60,000 and drew over 100 distinguished guests. The Children's
Trust Fund serves as a voice for Michigan's children and families
and promotes their health, safety, and welfare by funding effective
local programs and services that prevent child abuse and neglect.
Michigan NGA 2007
Cheryl Bergman hired and managed the Michigan NGA Host Committee
staff. The Michigan NGA Host Committee created a 501C3, and raised
$2.5 million in order to host the Nation’s Governors for a three day
conference in Traverse City Michigan. The Host Committee managed
all aspects of Governor and guest relations and all event planning
and management for the conference, including the development of all
fundraising and conference marketing materials. Governor Granholm
welcomed 31 Governors and over 1,200 guests during Michigan NGA 2007
